15- “The increase in hydrocarbon and natural gas reserves”

Iran’s hydrocarbon and natural gas reserves have been increased as a result of exploratory activities after the revolution, rising from 145.94 billion barrels to 157 billion barrels from 1357 to the end of 1391. The recoverable reserves of natural gas increased from from 12.75 trillion cubic meters to more than 33.6 trillion cubic meters during this period.

During the post-revolution years, more than 40 billion barrels of crude oil and 2.4 trillion cubic meters of natural gas have been extracted.
