113- “Azarakhsh fighter jet”

Azarakhsh is an Iranian built F-5 fighter with a slightly increased wing area. The most noticeable change is in its vertical stabilizers which can be considered as a factor to control maneuvers that sometimes are out of control in F-5.
The F-5 and consequently Azarakhsh are capable of carrying a small amount of fuel, which shortens their range compared to F-4. (F-4 can carry as much fuel as the F-5 weight). This fuel shortage greatly reduces the ability to engage the aerial targets and conduct air warfare. That is why during the Iran-Iraq war, this fighter was mostly used to bombard close targets, close support on the front lines or scramble the airbases.
