43- “The production of Paclitaxel; the cancer nanomedicine”

Paclitaxel is one of the most effective chemotherapeutic drugs ever developed and is active against a broad range of cancers, such as ovarian, breast, cervical and pancreatic cancers. The drug is developed based on the technology known as “nanoparticles albumin bound” and contains the well-known drug named Paclitaxel.
The formulation and preparation of nanoparticles in the form of albumin nanoparticles helps to avoid chemical incompatibility which leads to side effects of the drugs. This profile improves the side effects of albumin-based nano anti-cancer drugs. After its injection into a cancer patient, the nanomedicine is much more concentrated than the conventional non-nanoparticle formulation in the tumor site under the influence of EPR.
Albumin, the body’s predominant serum-binding protein, does not cause allergic reactions. Consequently, the oncologist does not usually use pretreatment with antihistamines and corticosteroids in prescribing these nanodrugs.
